Job Description

Position Summary:

As a Machine Learning Engineer Specialist, you will develop and deploy software applications that extract valuable insights from laboratory data.  You will work closely with our engineers and laboratory analysts to process data in various formats, including those from major instrument vendors. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Integrate Machine Learning (ML) algorithms into analytical pipelines
• Collaborate with data scientists
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize software performance
• Additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, or equivalent field
• 3+ years direct experience with software tooling for Machine Learning engineering
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or Sponsorship 

Ideal Candidates will have: 

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, or equivalent field
• 4-5+ years direct experience with software tooling for ML engineering
• Previous experience with machine learning related to Chemistry or lab equipment
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like scikit-learn, pandas), Java, or C++
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively
• Strong collaboration and teamwork spirit
• Experience working with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of computer vision or image processing techniques applied to chemistry data
• Familiarity with industry-specific software libraries (e.g., OpenChrom, PyMS)
