Job Description

In a nutshell

As an Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead strategic IT Infrastructure projects; including a major IT Infrastructure transition and transformation globally.

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

Based in Barcelona, you will be joining an international team, the IT Application Monitoring and Observability team is a global Eurofins team that provides knowledge on operation of IT Systems and IT Infrastructure.

How can you help us? 

As an Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will join a challenging and unique large-scale Transformation Program with high impact and visibility. Over 61K+ Eurofins employees relies on services that we are providing to conduct their daily operation. From basic application availability monitoring, through complex process analysis ending on advanced statical and ML/AI methods to proactively counteract any unexpected events that can negatively impact the bussies. Handling over 3TB of data daily our goals is to collect, process, and visualize data to provide knowledge in easy and understandable way to the end users.

As our next IT infrastructure Engineer, You will:

Be responsible for creating infrastructure with terraform for cloud providers. Also, will be maintaining existing Infrastructure both on premise and on the Cloud Environment.

You will take part in monitoring requirements elicitation and maintain team’s backlog; actively contribute to Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).

Handling feasibility studies and proof of concepts for Infrastructure optimization, consulting developed and delivered solution with Security department.

In this position, you will be reporting directly to Program Manager.

Qualifications

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

You have:

Experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure and applications on Azure using IaC with Terraform is a must and key requirement. At least 2-3 years of experience (university projects included).  

Skills in applying DevOps principles, especially deploying, monitoring, and operating containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.

Knowledge in securing IT environments is a must due to close cooperation with Security department (SSL, certificate management, security concepts like encryptions, hashing etc.)

Development skills (scripting level in bash, basic Python is nice to have)

Successful experience delivering results from international and geographically disparate teams, including both local and remote resources and contending for heavily utilized centralized resources; 

Very good command of English written and spoken.

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in IT engineering Knowledge.

What else should we know about you?

You have a great understanding of Azure services (Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Firewall, Application Gateway, Log Analytics). Understating of auto scaling concepts. Familiarity with any modelling languages (ex. C4, UML, ArchiMate) and experience in working with Elasticsearch are nice to have.

Our challenging technological stack:

Elastic Stack (especially: Beats, LogStash, ElasticSearch), MS SQL Server, Grafana, Octopus, Environment: Barebones docker and Azure Cloud (AKS). Plans to expand to AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and GCS Google Kubernetes Engine.
