Job Description

In a nutshell

As a DevOps Engineer,  you will be contributing to the implementation of best Cloud and DevOps practices and the acceleration of the deployment of standard processes across our laboratories. You will support applications lifecycle, cloud migration, containerization, and modernization.

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

You will be based in Lisbon, Portugal and will be joining an already existing distributed team (Belgium, Romania, India and China) within our ComLIMS&ADMS Programmes, that provide a suite of marketing and clients management application; within our Information Systems (EurIS) group of application suites. 

How can you help us? 

You will:

  • Be involved in application lifecycle management, configuration management, and build and release process management for ComLIMS&ADMS applications; 
  • Contribute to technical activities from the DevOps backlog;
  • Help team members adapt to new ways of working;
  • Support the application lifecycle and operational tasks;
  • Maintain and extend both the technical documentation and DevOps guidelines;
  • Act as part of the ComLIMS&ADMS L3 Support Team;
  • Provide some periodical and/or emergency support;
  • Provide operational support to the various scrum team;
  • Acquire and keep expanding functional knowledge of the EurIS suite, starting with ADMS; 
  • Present and share knowledge within and outside the team;
  • Report clearly and timely to the Site and Team Manager; 
  • Become a cloud DevOps practitioner by:
    • Working together with Platform Delivery Team;
    • Working closely with program and application technical team (Developers and Architects);
    • Being involved in implementation Infra via Infrastructure as Code;
    • Deploying applications on Cloud infrastructure using IIS, Kubernetes and Docker;
    • Helping bring Development and Operation teams together.

Qualifications

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

You have:

  • 3+ years of experience in either DevOps, Software or related engineering- preferably- in an Enterprise DevOps and/or cloud migration context; 
  • Experience in Operational procedures: procurement, installation, monitoring, support, etc; 
  • Experience with deploy and release tools, such us Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, etc; 
  • Experience with, at least, one scripting language like PowerShell, bash, etc; 
  • Cloud infrastructure and administration experience: Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP, etc; 
  • Good communication skills within an international environment; 
  • An eye for detail and technical accuracy; 

You are:

  • Eager to learn continuously: new tech, processes, and functional knowledge; 
  • Fluent in English; 

What else should I know? 

The following skills are a plus:

  • A Masters degree in Computer Science (or strong Bachelor equivalent); 
  • Database administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server; 
  • Configuration management experience with CMDB; 
  • On-prem infrastructure and administration; 
  • Containerization experience: Docker, Kubernetes; 
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (Cloud); 
  • Software development/architecture: .NET, etc.
