Job Description

In a nutshell

As Application Support Engineer for Eurofins Food and Environment Testing HU you will be working with our software support application teams. You will be providing 2nd and 3rd line support our business customers for Software Application related issues. As well as working on projects to move away from current legacy solutions and to implement Business tools and Systems (new Version of eLIMS).

Working on internal software systems running our laboratories across the CEE region you will be part of the support team and also integral part of the implementation team, working to implement new systems and improve processes. You will be working with the support engineers, as well as Business Analysts and Developers as part of a large and dynamic IT Solutions team.

The role is located in Budapest. This position reports to the Team Leader of CEE Team for Eurofins Food and Environment Testing Hungary.
 

Responsibilities:

Key duties as an Application Support Engineer include handling support requests for internal business users, problem-solving, and bug fixing. The role also involves database querying, code writing, and configuration. You will actively learn new or unfamiliar technologies, develop BI reports, and contribute to the development of a BI toolset. Additionally, you will work on project developments and improvements to systems, specifically focusing on LIMS systems and internal tools. Collaborating with the business to understand their requirements and problems is also an important part of the role.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have strong problem-solving abilities, a passion for technology, and excellent communication skills to effectively discuss business problems and issues. You will need to have good IT skills, including proficiency in Office and Excel, and any prior programming experience would be beneficial. Experience with Microsoft SQL queries and scripting is essential, along with 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.

Beneficial skills include experience with SSRS or Crystal Reports, familiarity with BI platforms such as Qlikview or Power BI, and scripting experience in VB6, VBA, or C#.net. Experience with Visual Basic development would also be a plus.
