(Senior) Unity XR Developer

Your Role

We’re looking for a (Senior) Unity XR Developer to build high-fidelity Mixed Reality applications on Meta Quest 3. Your work will power immersive simulations and “wow” demos that make complex greenhouse operations, robotics, and real-time systems understandable at a glance.

You’ll collaborate with a distributed team across Cologne HQ and our Bengaluru office, working closely with robotics, computer vision, and product to bring real systems into XR.

What You’ll Do

Build MR/VR applications for Meta Quest

Design and develop immersive XR experiences in Unity for standalone headsets, shipping polished builds that run reliably on-device.

Create interactive simulations & visualizations

Turn workflows (robots, people/objects, greenhouse layouts, operational events) into intuitive 3D experiences—interactive, explorable, and easy to understand.

Implement XR interactions & spatial features

Use modern XR stacks (e.g., OpenXR / Meta XR, XR Interaction patterns) to build comfortable navigation, selection/manipulation, UI, and MR passthrough experiences.

Optimize performance for standalone hardware

Profile, diagnose, and optimize rendering and CPU/GPU performance to hit stable frame rates on Quest (asset budgets, batching, lighting, LODs, shaders, scene structure).

Build maintainable, scalable Unity architecture

Create reusable systems for scene management, data ingestion, configuration, and debugging so the team can iterate fast without breaking things.

Collaborate cross-functionally

Work with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into shippable features, and communicate tradeoffs clearly (quality vs. performance vs. scope).

Who You Are

Core requirements

• 0–5 years professional experience building with Unity + C#
• Hands-on experience shipping VR/MR applications, ideally on Meta Quest
• Familiarity with OpenXR / Meta XR SDK and common XR interaction patterns
• Strong grasp of 3D fundamentals (coordinate systems, transforms, cameras, lighting, basic math)
• Experience with performance profiling/optimization on device
• Solid engineering hygiene: Git, debugging, clean code, iterative delivery

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with URP, custom shaders, VFX, or advanced rendering optimization
• Familiarity integrating external data sources (e.g., APIs, telemetry, logs, real-time streams)
• Experience building simulation/visualization tools (digital twins, operational dashboards, 3D mapping)
• Comfort working with 3D content pipelines (Blender/Maya, asset optimization workflows)
