AI Automation Engineer

As an AI Operations Engineer, you will be one of the first builders in our AI Operations team, working closely with the Head of AI Ops and teams across ESTO, with the autonomy to build, experiment, and move fast.

This is a hands-on role for someone who gets excited about turning possibilities into working solutions - you will experiment with the latest AI tooling, build agentic workflows and integrations, and solve problems that have a visible impact on how ESTO operates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build AI-powered automation - design and ship agentic workflows, integrations, and scripts on our AI stack and internal systems

• Remove operational bottlenecks - take ideas from concept to production, understand the problem, design the solution, build it, test it, and iterate

• Keep what you ship alive - monitor the automations you and the team own, catch failures before users do, and refine them as inputs, volumes, and processes change

• Experiment on the frontier - try new AI capabilities and tooling, and turn the promising ones into practical solutions

• Set the standard - establish best practices for AI usage and workflow orchestration.

• Spread what works - turn each automation into a reusable template and share what you learn to build a culture of experimentation across ESTO

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid general engineering skills: experience in Python or a similar language, APIs, integrations, and working with data

• Problem solver: you can take a challenge, break it down, and turn it into a practical technical plan

• AI-native: genuinely excited about AI and LLMs, comfortable experimenting with different tooling, and eager to go deeper

• A natural builder: you enjoy building and testing rather than waiting for the perfect answer; you ship small, learn from real users, and iterate

• Collaborative: you are ready to work with colleagues across the entire organization, including Operations, Engineering and Product.

• Always curious: you want to understand the "why" behind a problem, not just the task in front of you

• Ownership mentality: self-directed, outcome-obsessed, moves fast and finishes things; comfortable with ambiguity in a role that is being built from scratch

• Nice to have: experience automating support, finance, operations, or other back-office processes; hands-on experience with AI orchestration or agent frameworks; experience in fintech or another regulated environment
