Overview

Create content supporting ArcGIS imagery software products by making useful and relevant resources which communicate and educate ArcGIS users. In this role, you will work with development and product engineer leads in designing, creating, and publishing content such as documentation, recommended workflows, videos, blogs, use case studies, and other media.

Responsibilities

  • Design, author, and publish imagery related content which helps our imagery users be more successful with ArcGIS
  • Contribute as a software documentation author
  • Write and edit ArcGIS documentation that is clear and easy for users to understand
  • Contribute as an author to multiple ArcGIS software products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Image Analyst, ArcGIS Reality, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Image for ArcGIS Online
  • Review and edit imagery workflows and solutions documentation and whitepapers
  • Write and publish articles on the ArcGIS blog focusing on imagery and remote sensing
  • Design, author, and publish tutorials, “How To”, “Shorts”, and workflow videos for platforms such as YouTube
  • Review and respond to imagery and remote sensing questions on the ArcGIS forums and at conferences
  • Work with the Esri Story Map Team to define topics for imagery related story maps
  • Work with the Esri Mapping Center Team to define imagery related cartographic web maps
  • Work with the Esri Learn Team to help design new imagery related learn series and tutorials
  • Work with the Esri Academy Team to write and develop Learn Lab and courses
  • Visit successful user sites and write use case studies and success stories

Requirements

  • 2+ years of GIS and/or remote sensing/image processing and/or photogrammetry/image analysis experience
  • 1+ year of experience with ArcGIS products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept at distilling complex topics into understandable software documentation
  • Proficiency in conveying complex technical information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to create useful content which helps others be successful with ArcGIS
  • Ability to create tests to verify discrete functionality, and specific workflow capabilities
  • Ability to manage detailed information and multi-task
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, geography, remote sensing, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience writing technical user documentation or technical developer documentation
  • Experience designing modern web sites and/or pages
  • Experience creating multimedia content such as videos and podcasts
  • Experience in graphic designing figures for educational content
  • Master’s in computer science, geography, remote sensing, or related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$72,800$124,800 USD
