Job Description
ERM is hiring a Consulting PHA Facilitator in Covington, LA for ongoing support of a Key Oil and Gas client. This will be a 6 month limited-term consulting opportunity with potential to be ongoing for the duration of 1 year, renewable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role does not directly support PSM programs or specific "element" implementation, PSM/RMP compliance mandates and/or auditing functions. The focus is on the technical engineering aspects of process safety such as:
- Facilitation of process safety discussions as PHA leader (HAZOP, structured What-If)
- Preparation for and support of Hazard Identification (HazId) studies, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) studies, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), etc.
- Determination and evaluation of process hazards from process deviations
- Safety technical consultancy on prevention and protection concepts and technical solutions for production assets and within investment projects (national and international)
- Close cooperation with production, process technology and engineering
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Engineering, Science, Process Technology or Chemistry minimum,
- Professional experience in PHA facilitation in oil and gas (preferably offshore), chemical industry in process safety, production, engineering or notified body (10+ years desired)
- Knowledge and experience in safety engineering
- Knowledge of relevant local regulations and industry standards
- Strong analytical skills, systematic and structured way of working
- Strong team and communication skills
- Initiative, sense of responsibility, flexibility
