Who are we?
The (Radio Access Network) System Management (RSM) team in the RAN Software & Compute Platform organization is responsible for RAN product definition, evolution, and Systems-level support. The broad range of responsibilities covers the RAN solution built from products in the Ericsson Radio System; including RAN compute central and distributed baseband units, radios, interconnect, and RAN functions to ensure that we have the SW and HW architectures vital to realize Ericsson's long term strategic direction.
We are seeking a System Developer to help shape the future of our Radio Access Network (RAN) products by leveraging the latest technologies and development practices.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are rapidly transforming the telecom industry, and we see tremendous potential in applying these innovations to the RAN domain. Our customers increasingly demand intelligent, self-optimizing networks that can proactively maintain service quality and resolve issues autonomously. To support this, we are opening up our networks through APIs, enabling AI-driven solutions to unlock the full potential of our infrastructure. In this role, you will be at the forefront of this transformation—proposing software and hardware solutions, contributing to the evolution of industry standards, and turning customer requirements into cutting-edge technical solutions.You will be part of collaborative, cross-functional teams, leading early-phase studies that define the strategic direction for product development.
What you will do
Drive and participate in system studies for radio access network (RAN) products and features and product evolution
Develop and high-quality products
Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools and processes
Proof of Concept development
Realization of ML/AI in Ericsson products
Participate in the development of technologies for hardware and software solutions
Development of Intellectual Property
Skills you bring
A MSEE or PhD graduate, maximum 1-2 year work experience
Strong background in computer science or electrical engineering
An ideal candidate would be a self-starter, detailed, organized, analytical as well as practical, and be able to work multi-functionally with the broader System, Design, Business and Integration/Verification teams.
Experience in systems specification in the telecommunication field or related experience
Familiarity with applying AI and Machine Learning techniques for field performance improvements
Experience in the software development and analysis of simulations (knowledge of simulation environments and tools like MATLAB would be an asset)
Knowledge of Radio Access standards, configurations and interface specifications
Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and computer skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of the Deluxe medical and dental plan coverages for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, 3-5 personal days (depending on role), 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and unlimited sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
