Senior UDM 5G Engineer

About this opportunity:

We're looking for a talented Core Specialist who will be responsible to ensure configuration/Trouble Tickets/Troubleshooting/Security Compliances on various Core nodes on Ericsson Network Architecture.

What you will do:

• Knowledge of 3GPP 5G standards, architecture (SBA, NBA), and network elements configuration (UPF, AMF, SMF, NRF, UDM).
• Knowledge of Cloud computing (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenStack) and familiarity with NFV (Network Functions Virtualization).
• Knowledge of network protocols (e.g., HTTP/2, TCP/IP, SCTP, LDAP, SOAP).
• Provide 2nd Level of support for the 5G UDM Core Operations, Data Network and in Packet Core that includes GPRS, WCDMA, LTE technologies virtualized platform.
• Take charge of complex, high Impact multidomain Incident, cause Identification and reporting, node fault management, drive change fallback decision in case of impact.
• Troubleshoot and perform on demand analysis on network issues (performance degradation, customer complaint, etc.)
• Propose improvements of the existing features and suggest new ones according to the needs resulted from day-to-day operations.
• Manage and secure site info & access, ensure Password policies, security policies and audits are properly & periodically followed.
• Monitoring and review of TT, CR and AT on daily basis.

• Ensure MSTOP/EOE Processes are followed in the Workplace.
• Contribute to procedure improvements and routines within the department / group.
• Participate in internal technical discussions in view to enhance the team competence and to improve overall network performance and make recommendations wherever possible.
• Execute system configuration related changes as per given access rights.

The skills you bring:

• 6-10 years of working experience with any of the UDM Core Products like CUDB, HLR-FE, HSS-FE, EIR, CCDM (UDR/PF), CCSM (UDM, AUSF, HSS-EPC, HSS-IMS), CCRC (NRF, NSSF), CCPC (PCF, PCRF), CCES (NEF, SEE)
• Knowledge of interworking with 4G/5G/IMS networks, IP networking, GSM, SS7, SIGTRAN, and DIAMETER protocols. VoLTE, VoWiFi Solutions, signalling call flows.
• Knowledge of NFVi, Openstack/Docker/Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of containers/Kubernetes/micro-services; experience with Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution (ECCD) is a plus.
• Understanding of mobile network interfaces i.e. Iu, A, Gx, Gy, S1, S11, S5, S6a, SGS, SGi, N1/N2, N3/N4, Cx, Sh, Ro, Rx, Gm, Sxa, Sxb, etc.
• Experience in upgrades, O&M, and troubleshooting of telecom products.
• Proficiency in LDAP, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, Wireshark, Linux, and Telco Cloud.
• Basic scripting skills (Shell, PERL, Python) will be an advantage.
• Expertise in virtualization products and hypervisors (VMware, KVM, OpenStack).
• Knowledge of basic subscriber provisioning flow of UDM nodes.
• Knowledge of geo-redundancy of UDM nodes.
• Good Knowledge and understanding of RHOS, CEE, Docker, Containers, Kubernetes over HDS, BSP, Dell, HP, and orchestrators such as EO/EVNFM.
• Strong team player with mentoring and coaching skills.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to present technical and functional artifacts confidently.
