About this opportunity:

Ericsson’s Early Career Program is an 18-month journey for recent graduates and candidates with up to five years of relevant experience. Across three rotations, including an international placement and market exposure, you’ll tackle challenges that matter and work alongside people who expect you to contribute, question, and move things forward.

The Innovate track is designed for people driven by building what’s next. You’ll rotate across Research, Product Development, Data, and AI, contributing to solutions that don’t just support the business but move it forward.

We are looking for a Data & AI Engineer to strengthen strategic capabilities in data, AI, and intelligent engineering that are critical to future business success. This role focuses on applying these capabilities to Radio product development and R&D workflows.

This isn’t a programme where you sit on the sidelines. From day one, you’re hired into a role, trusted to contribute, supported to grow, and expected to make an impact. Find out more about the Early Career Program.

Your journey within the Innovate Program will start as a Data & AI Engineer, supporting AI-enabled engineering and data solutions for Radio R&D.

What you will do:

  • Apply data and AI to practical Radio product-development challenges, improving engineering productivity, knowledge management, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Help build and evaluate AI-powered tools, agents, and machine-learning solutions—including Generative AI and RAG—for Radio R&D workflows across software, hardware, and system engineering.

  • Collect, process, and analyze engineering data; support data pipelines and analytics platforms; and develop dashboards that give teams actionable insights while maintaining data quality and governance.

  • Collaborate with Radio domain experts to identify use cases and contribute to AI-enabled improvements in engineering analysis, design, testing, and knowledge discovery for 5G and future 6G.

  • Share findings with the team and continue developing your expertise in AI, data engineering, and Radio technologies.

Job Description

You will bring:

We provide a platform; what you contribute and the impact you drive is what matters. To make the most of it, don’t wait to be told. Lean in, ask questions, and take responsibility for your work and career. We value people who challenge conventional approaches and bring a genuine interest in data, AI, and applying intelligent engineering to Radio product development.

In addition, you have:

  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Wireless Communications, Software Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

  • Basic programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or similar languages, and an understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning fundamentals and data analytics techniques

  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments

  • Hands-on experience or a strong interest in Large Language Models, Generative AI, AI Agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG); familiarity with platforms or frameworks such as OpenAI, Azure AI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, MCP, or similar ecosystems is highly desirable

  • Basic understanding of wireless communications, telecommunications networks, or Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies is a plus

  • Strong curiosity about AI, data, and emerging technologies, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • A self-driven, proactive, and collaborative approach, with clear communication skills and good written and spoken English

  • A willingness to experiment, innovate, and continuously learn
