Senior Software Engineer

Work Location - Sydney

The Software Engineer is an integral part of a cross-functional squad, responsible for design, build, test, and support of applications. As part of this role you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, fit-for-purpose software, consistent with Equifax’s global engineering standards. This role is highly technical and requires the ability to work in and leverage an agile delivery environment to continuously deliver business value.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native software applications using .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core/ .NET 6+).

• Develop and optimize cloud-native database solutions using SQL Server, including stored procedures, triggers, and complex queries.

• Work on all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and QA engineers.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation.

• Implement and maintain secure coding practices.

What experience do you need 

• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer with .NET (backend - ASP.NET, .NET Core/ .NET 6+) and modern front end frameworks (React, Angular, or similar).

• Must have experience in microservices development

• Strong proficiency in SQL Server and the SQL stack (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, etc.).

• Cloud-native software development skills in SQL strongly preferred, with a track record of learning other languages as required.

• 5+ years experience building elegant, delightful cloud-native apps with reduced cycle time. GCP preferred.

• Established knowledge and understanding of key software engineering principles like OOP, Inversion of Control, Design Patterns and Microservices architectures.

• Detailed knowledge of modern software development tools, techniques and frameworks.

• Proactive, self-starter, highly motivated, with a real passion for staying up to date and researching new methods of work and new technology.

• Must have valid and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

• Commercial software engineering experience, preferably in a regulatory Industry or financial services enterprise or technology product company.
