What you’ll do

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

• Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable and robust big data architectures, including data pipelines, batch processing frameworks, and data storage solutions.

• Development & Optimization: Develop high-quality code for data ingestion, processing, and transformation using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Kafka. Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Data Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.

• Batch Processing: Develop and implement batch processing frameworks to handle large-scale data processing tasks, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

• Data Storage: Evaluate and implement appropriate data storage solutions, including distributed file systems, NoSQL databases, and data warehouses.

• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and logging systems to track performance and identify potential issues. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data processing problems.

• Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements.

• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with the latest big data technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending new tools and frameworks to improve our platform.

What experience you need  

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on big data processing and batch platforms.

• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python. Deep understanding of big data technologies such as Spark and cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc. Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.

• Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data processing issues.

• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
