Big Data Cloud Architect (GCP)

The Big Data Cloud Architect will lead the architecture design of the Quality Management Platform (event monitoring).  You will work closely with development segments in our Data Fabric Data Services (DFDS) organization to guide the design and implementation for the data quality event monitoring system.  You will partner with Product Owners and the infrastructure organization to define product roadmap, tool/product selection, and provide architecture design, POC the solution.

What you will do

• Lead moderately large or complex projects and ensure the success of application rollouts.

• Determine and develop aligned recommended architectural approaches document current systems

• Serves as technical architecture expert for software development / infrastructure teams

• Assists project teams in estimating the architecture design effort and in developing/ reviewing/ approving architecture designs.

• Advises project teams on the application of standards/methodology practices to the project.

• Communicates and validates programmer architecture with Technology, and Business executive level stakeholders.

• Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues.

What experience you need

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required

• You have over 7 years of experience working in technology based positions with over 5 years building, designing and maintaining enterprise class applications.

• 3+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in the public cloud (GCP strongly preferred but would consider AWS as well). 

• You have deep knowledge and experience with core Java and/or python development and other languages including Ruby, Bash, Go, Perl, JavaScript, and node.js.

• Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.

• Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases

• Experience with multiple OSS frameworks and microservice implementation styles.

• Experience with message driven application development (pub-sub, Kafka) and event driven microservice implementation

• Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices

What could set you apart

• Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred

• Experience designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems utilizing cloud computing technologies like Data Flow (strongly preferred as a qualifying skill set) 

• Additionally, this resource will have demonstrated experience working with very large data sets with Big Query and will have knowledge of big data processing, batch and streaming (strongly preferred as a qualifying skill set) 

• Broad experience with large amounts of data associated with entities such as persons or businesses, preferably with Equifax data assets (strongly preferred as a qualifying skill set) 

• Experience with leading development teams.

• Knowledge of GCP services and data visualization tools (strongly preferred as a qualifying skill set) 

• A solid grasp of regulations and security requirements governing access to data in Big Data systems

• Sound understanding of Insight(or other related) delivery systems for batch, streaming and online

• A real passion for and the ability to learn new technologies

• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicating with team members at various levels, including engaging with business leaders, internal customers, and product management

• Ability to share ideas among a collaborative team and drive the team based on technical expertise and learning, sharing standard methodologies

To adhere to our corporate location policies, this resource will be required to be local to the surrounding Atlanta areas (or willing to relocate for this position) and adhere to our Return To Office (RTO) / weekly onsite requirements (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This is an Alpharetta based position.
