Job Description

We are looking for a strategic Senior or Lead Solution Architect to join our team. Reporting directly to the Technology Director, you will be the technical visionary in the pre-sales process and the bridge between our commercial promises and our engineering reality. 

While this role is heavily focused on strategy and solution definition, we know that great architects need to stay close to the code. You will define the solution and then retain technical oversight during the initial build phase, ensuring your vision is honoured and providing governance to the delivery team. 

Ideally, you are an ex-developer who has moved into the "big picture" but still understands the code underneath and can pick up new technologies quickly. 

What You’ll Do 

• Lead Technical Strategy: Partner with the commercial team to pitch complex digital solutions. You act as the trusted technical advisor, helping clients understand how we can solve their business problems without getting lost in jargon. 

• Architect for Impact: Create high-level solution definitions and specifications. You will define the blueprint, ensuring it is technically viable and commercially sound. Crucially, you will maintain a governance role as projects kick off to ensure the development team has what they need to succeed. 

• Connect the Ecosystem: Design architectures that integrate CMS/DXP platforms with the wider MarTech landscape. You don't need to know every tool on the market, but you will use your understanding of integration patterns and API structures to design data flows between CDPs, Marketing Automation, and Analytics platforms. 

• Invent Better (Your Way): We want to champion your expertise. If you have an interest in writing articles, speaking at events, or building your personal brand, we provide the platform and support to do so, but your primary focus remains on architectural excellence. 

• Client Engagement: While we offer a hybrid work environment based in Pyrmont, you will be expected to attend client meetings and presentations in person when required to build trust and close deals. 

Qualifications

What You Bring 

• Platform Expertise: Deep architectural understanding of at least one major platform (e.g., Optimizely, EPiServer, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Kentico, Drupal or Acquia). We value your ability to transfer architectural principles to new platforms over rote memorization of features. 

• Integration Mindset: You might not be fluent in every specific MarTech tool (SEO, Geo-targeting, CDPs), but you know how to read API documentation, design secure data flows, and figure out how to make disparate systems play nicely together. 

• Pre-Sales Capability: You are comfortable translating "tech-speak" into business value. You enjoy the puzzle of fitting a client's needs into a workable technical solution. 

• Technical Roots: You likely started as a developer. You understand the implications of the architecture you design and respect the engineering process. 

Nice to Have (But Not Required) 

• Experience with E-commerce platforms. 

• Agency experience is a plus, but not essential.
