Job Description

Endava is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Data Engineer to fill an immediate need. This individual will work with the technical team and internal clients to understand and analyze requirements to build and support data initiatives. The candidate will have experience designing and developing highly scalable data solutions with a strong understanding of the Data Engineering operating environments. This role requires an individual who has a passion for technology and media and is looking to apply this to further their experience in real-world business scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and drive discussions, support decision-making in processes and solutions, and mentor in discussions.
  • Oversee and deliver complex core practice tasks and guide others effectively.
  • Develop and advocate for new best practices and optimize existing processes.
  • Take ownership of documentation for assigned areas, ensuring completeness, consistency, and clarity.
  • Champion compliance and standards, drive adherence, and resolve issues.
  • Drive and support team collaboration by coordinating efforts and fostering strong team dynamics.
  • Work closely with technical leads to ensure alignment on goals and technical solutions.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical guidance.
  • Building Automation tools and pipelines, as well as continuous improvement of tech stacks.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • 3-6 years of progressive software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with Python
  • Strong experience within AWS cloud ecosystem
  • Experience with any MPP database technology
  • Experience with agile methodologies is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts
  • Skilled in time management and meeting timelines
  • Strong teamwork, contributing effectively to team goals
  • Thrive in hybrid work settings
  • Effective communicator, skilled at influencing team discussions
  • Basic understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance standards
  • Able to stay ahead of the curve with new and emerging technologies
  • Experience in ad tech is a strong plus

Technical Experience:

  • Warehouse/Lakehouse: Snowflake, AWS Redshift
  • Orchestration/Pipelines: Airflow
  • Transformation/Modelling: DBT
  • Observability/Analytics: AWS QuickSight
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
