Test Engineering Manager
Location: DEBRECEN, HAJDÚ BIHAR, Hungary; Hybrid
- Lead, coach, and support a test engineering team, creating a positive, inclusive environment where people can do their best work and grow their careers.
- Define and implement the overall test strategy and roadmap for products and solutions, aligning with business priorities and customer needs.
- Oversee the planning, design, development, and execution of test systems, fixtures, and automated test solutions for hardware, software, and integrated systems.
- Partner with design, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to ensure test requirements are clear, feasible, and integrated early in the development lifecycle.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of test processes, documentation, and tools to increase reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Use data and metrics to monitor test performance, analyze failure trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure test activities comply with relevant industry standards, internal procedures, and safety and quality requirements.
- Manage priorities, resources, and timelines across multiple projects, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of new test technologies and methodologies.
- Represent the test function in internal and external reviews, providing clear, transparent communication to stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Experience in test engineering, validation, or a related engineering field in a product, manufacturing, or R&D environment.
- Experience leading people or technical teams (for example as a team lead, project lead, or manager), with a focus on coaching, feedback, and development.
- Practical knowledge of test strategies, methods, and tools for hardware, software, or embedded systems (e.g., functional testing, regression testing, reliability testing, automated test systems).
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and specifications and translate them into effective test plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Comfort working with data—using test results, metrics, and dashboards to identify trends, drive decisions, and prioritize actions.
- Strong communication skills in English and Hungarian, with the ability to collaborate in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.
- A learning mindset, with curiosity about new technologies, tools, and ways of working, and the willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Experience in test engineering for industrial automation, process control, electronics, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with automated test equipment, test scripting, data acquisition, or similar test frameworks.
- Familiarity with product development lifecycles (for example agile or stage-gate processes) and collaboration with global engineering teams.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or operations environment, partnering closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Exposure to continuous improvement practices (for example Lean, Six Sigma, problem-solving methodologies) and driving process improvements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements applicable to testing and product compliance
