Software Engineer Trainee

Location: PUNE, MAHARASHTRA, India

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Learn and apply software engineering best practices in product development activities.
  • Contributes to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Emerson software products.
  • Develop and maintain software features under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues identified during development and testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and implement feedback to improve code quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation as required.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, Testing, Product Management, and Customer Support.
  • Support automation, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • MTech / Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline with graduation completed in 2025 or 2026
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented concepts.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn industrial automation technologies and Emerson products.

 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Academic projects, internships, or coursework related to software development.
  • Exposure to Windows application development, web technologies, or cloud platforms.
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
  • Exposure to software testing, automation, or DevOps concepts.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, or IoT technologies will be an added advantage.
