Quality/Engineering Co-Op (Spring Semester - January 2027 Start)

Location: Sherman, TX, United States

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Work with Quality/Assembly/Engineering on daily tasks to include but not limited to: writing work instructions, quality alerts, change requests, tooling/fixture drawings, and other documentation as required.
  • Update shop floor layouts and perform time studies.
  • Document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements.
  • Participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve processes and assist with lean initiatives.
  • Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary
  • Collaborate with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges.

 
Who You Are:
  • You try different solutions for problems and learn from the results. You drill down to root causes to gather relevant information. You get out of your comfort zone and volunteer for assignments that represent a new challenge. 

 
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Safety conscious
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Summer/Fall Co-op experience in Sherman, TX from January 2027-August 2027.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering
  • Junior or senior class standing
  • Direct experience with AutoCAD and the development of drawings
  • Six months generalized work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • General Lean Manufacturing knowledge

We are looking for someone who is interested in gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will work with special projects which will include the development of standardizing CMM reporting, the documentation and improvement of inspection processes, working to develop fixturing for gaging and Calibration Lab use, and other projects as needed.
