Mechanical Engineer

Location: AUGSBURG, Bavaria, Germany

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Designing chassis for system level products as well as for customized products.
  • Design heat sinks and cooling plates for board level products using CAD.
  • Create part and assembly drawings for board and system level mechanical parts.
  • Support of production as well as purchase during new product introductions.
  • Work out cooling solutions for our products.
  • Support of hardware colleagues about placement and available build space.
  • Setup and managing of BOMs.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies using modern CAD systems such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical design solutions.
  • Strong organizational and self-management capabilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Professional communication skills in German English.
  • Commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Solid Edge.
  • Knowledge of thermal analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), ideally using FloTHERM.
  • Understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and engineering data management processes.
  • Knowledge of injection-molded plastic part design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of die-cast aluminum part design and manufacturing.
  • Experience developing cooling solutions for electronic products.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic hardware design considerations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience participating in technical discussions with customers to define product requirements and specifications.
  • Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach.

As Mechanical Engineer you will develop mechanical parts and assemblies for our ruggedized industrial Controllers (PLCs), Industrial Computers (IPCs) & Panel PCs using CAD tools. All our products need to be reliable and rugged due to the environment they are subject to. High shock and vibration levels and extreme temperature conditions are common. The desired Mechanical Engineer needs to work closely with the electronic designers to ensure proper cooling and mechanical soundness of our electronic designs. Additionally close collaboration with the manufacturing department for product introduction, with the purchase department for supplier selection and with the suppliers for technical clarification are essential.
