Salesforce Technical Architect (CPQ Specialization)
Team: Business Systems
Location: Boston, MA
Commitment: Full-Time
Workplace Type: hybrid
What You Will Do
- Architect the CPQ Engine: Drive the long-term technical roadmap for Salesforce CPQ & Billing, prioritizing platform performance, data integrity, and multi-year scalability.
- Own the Revenue Engine: Design, optimize, and maintain complex Lead-to-Cash and Quote-to-Cash workflows, ensuring seamless product configuration and accurate pricing structures.
- Lead Enterprise Integrations: Architect robust, scalable integrations between Salesforce CPQ, back-office ERP systems, and downstream financial systems using custom APIs and middleware platforms.
- Establish Governance: Set and enforce the "gold standard" for our development lifecycle, including coding standards (Apex/LWC), branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines for configuration data.
- Triage Technical Debt: Proactively audit our existing CPQ ecosystem, identifying architectural gaps or redundant rules, and proposing pragmatic modernization strategies that keep revenue moving.
What You Will Bring
- CPQ & Billing Specialization: Extensive, hands-on experience architecting and implementing Salesforce CPQ and Billing workflows within a high-volume SaaS or Fintech environment.
- Proven Architecture Track Record: 7+ years of experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, with at least 3 years explicitly operating in a Technical Architect or Principal Engineer capacity.
- Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency writing and reviewing Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and designing complex security models to extend CPQ capabilities.
- Integration Expertise: Strong background designing REST/SOAP APIs and working with enterprise integration architecture to sync financial data seamlessly.
- Advanced Certification (Preferred): Holds Salesforce CPQ Specialist, System/Application Architect designations, or multiple advanced Designer certifications.
Who You Are
- A CPQ Subject Matter Expert: You live and breathe product bundles, price rules, discount schedules, and MDQ. You know exactly where the platform breaks and how to scale it safely.
- A Pragmatic Problem Solver: You understand that in a PE-backed company, business velocity matters. You know when to utilize out-of-the-box CPQ functionality and when it’s time to write custom code.
- A Technical Leader: You aren't just a theorist. You enjoy performing deep-dive code and configuration reviews, mentoring developers, and setting clear quality gates.
- An Excellent Communicator: You easily translate complex technical debt or CPQ limitations into clear business risks for leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
