Job description
Embark Studios is hiring a Head of Anti-Cheat — a full-time, based in Stockholm role. Apply directly on Embark Studios's careers page below.
As Head of Anti-Cheat at Embark, you will own how we keep THE FINALS, ARC Raiders and our future games fair. You lead a team of highly skilled security engineers, data scientists and ML engineers, and you report to our CTO. You set the direction, decide what we build, buy and partner on, and make sure players can trust both our games and what we tell them about cheating. You don't need to be the deepest technical expert in the room. You partner with strong tech leads, and you lead with product thinking, clear judgement and genuine care for your team.
Example of responsibilities
Leadership & Team
Lead, coach and grow a team of senior specialists, and build an environment where they do the best work of their careers.
Own hiring, team structure and headcount planning.
Partner with the tech leads in game security, ML and data, who own the technical direction of their tracks.
Strategy & Product
Own anti-cheat strategy and roadmap across all Embark games.
Make build, buy, partner and stop decisions with technical input from your team.
Set detection and evidence standards, and turn data into clear recommendations for game teams.
Balance what players feel about cheating with what the data shows, and make both visible.
Collaboration & Players
Work closely with game teams, who rely on your recommendations on enforcement.
Own relationships with third-party anti-cheat partners, from integration to contract.
Shape how we talk to players about cheating, together with our community and player support teams.
We would love if you have
A creative and curious mind.
Experience leading teams of senior technical specialists, with a record of building trust and stability.
A hands-on background in security, data science/ML or backend engineering. You won't be coding, but you're at home in a design review.
Experience in an adversarial domain such as anti-cheat, fraud, trust & safety, risk or abuse.
Experience owning a product or outcome end to end, including strategy and partner decisions.
Experience working with vendors and external partners.
Comfort communicating with players or the public on sensitive topics.
Bonus: experience from games or live services, ML-based detection, or kernel and client security.
Professional English communication skills.
At Embark we offer competitive salaries, passionate colleagues to share knowledge with and much more, but most of all we invite you to take part of a journey into the unknown, to build creative, surprising and beautiful experiences together.
Be yourself at Embark and make games while doing so. Please apply with confidence. We can’t wait to hear from you (in English)!
