About the role:
 
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Mining Engineer is responsible for working with a group of professionals to support mining operations at Greenhills Operation. They will learn engineering practices with the guidance and mentorship of a team committed to safe production and sustainability.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Work within our safety culture, sustainability strategy, and environmental commitments
  • Own and ensure the integrity of the fleet management data
  • Utilize data-driven insights, trends and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize fleet performance and operational processes
  • Lead and drive operational improvement initiatives in the field, working with key stakeholders 
  • The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate solutions and recommendations
  • Practical understanding of open‑pit mining is an asset
  • Perform economic evaluations, productivity analyses, and assist with capital expenditure justification 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Geological Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); EVR will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration 
  • Strong digital literacy in mining related software  
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 
  • Experience in a mining environment; previous experience in open pit, truck and shovel operations is required 
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
