Job Description: Java Developer

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Java Developer with a strong background in KNIME node development and workflow creation. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Eclipse RCP/RAP/OSGI development and will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. This role requires a deep understanding of Java programming, software design principles, and experience in working with modular frameworks. The candidate should be capable of working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality software solutions.

 

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and components, with a focus on KNIME node development and workflow creation.
- Work with Eclipse RCP/RAP/OSGI to develop modular and scalable software applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other developers to define software requirements and specifications.
- Implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to improve performance and stability.
- Document software design, coding, and deployment processes for future reference and maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the software is robust and scalable.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

 

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Java Developer, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience with KNIME node development and workflow creation.
- Proficiency in Eclipse RCP/RAP/OSGI development.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other JVM languages such as Java/Kotlin or Scala.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Understanding of data processing and analysis tools, particularly in the context of KNIME.
- Prior experience in developing plugins or extensions for KNIME or similar platforms.
