Come develop great software solutions to solve exciting problems to help patients!

The Software Product Engineering team is actively looking for a Business Analyst. Are you determined to deliver the best user-centered solutions? Are you interested in shaping the next generation of application development? If so, please apply.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a business analyst focused on patient engagement applications, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of those applications by facilitating the agile software development process, identifying product requirements based on stakeholder input, and identifying and implementing process improvements. These products will meet patients where they are at due to your close collaboration with our user-experience team, product owners, and other cross-functional stakeholders. You will partner with peers to influence the development process as we scale, to create an impactful operation that is responsive to both business and patient needs.

How You’ll Succeed

  • As business analyst you will gather, understand, and analyze the needs of project stakeholders; formalize the needs into a set of actionable business requirements.

  • With an approach that accepts failure, and ability to work in ambiguity, you will collaborate with the development team to translate business needs into technical requirements

  • By maximizing your understanding of the agile development methodology, you will manage the product backlog alongside the team scrum master to ensure the team is working on prioritized features in each product release

  • Using your problem-solving skills, you will evaluate the impact of proposed software changes to the software products, and create a clear path forward for the delivery team to  successfully implement the changes

  • With an attention to detail and proactivity you will identify, resolve, and prevent impediments to the delivery of the software products that you support; closely collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure effective resolution of issues.

  • Using your understanding of compliance needs you will create and support the validation activities of our applications to ensure we adhere to the validation requirements of Lilly’s Quality Management System(s)

  • As a superb communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will work and collaborate effectively on a team including with remote team members, to define, design and shape new features.

What You Should Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to write requirements in the form of user stories based on business and/or technical needs

  • Consistent track record of using Agile software development concepts to deliver software products over multiple releases

  • Ability to navigate through a software product release where new delivery processes are being defined, and new technologies are being produced

  • Familiarity with working in a regulated environment where quality of development activities is as important as the quality of the software

  • Demonstrated use of agile software tools such as Jira and Confluence to accomplish translating business/technical needs into requirements

  • Hunger to continually ask ‘why’ when interacting with stakeholders to ensure the user stories are focused on the right value

  • Ability to work with virtual team structure and across global time zones

  • Certified Scrum Master preferred

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field

Or

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in IT technical roles

  • 5+ Professional experience in delivering software solutions that span the development life cycle, i.e., project initiation, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, support, and retirement

  • 3+ Experience with Agile principles and frameworks across an applications lifecycle

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
