Position Summary:
The oncology Early Phase Medical Affairs Research Scientist leads the development and execution of early phase medical affairs strategic plans that craft the scientific story, create program awareness tools, and channels scientific content to stakeholders. The role provides expertise on current treatment practices and emerging mechanisms that may affect future standards of care and translates impact to early phase programs. This role leads the creation of a suite of scientific resources and digital materials to drive external awareness of the oncology pipeline. The position engages with external customers to facilitate the sharing of scientific information and to more clearly understand the treatment landscape. Additionally, the role identifies evidence gaps and works cross-functionally to implement solutions. Ultimately, the scientist builds the medical affairs foundation for early phase programs and ensures a smooth transition of medical affairs deliverables to late phase teams to accelerate launch readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Position:
Develop, execute, and maintain medical affairs strategic plans for the radioligand therapy portfolio from clinic entry through commercial decision
Initiate the creation and ensure maintenance of scientific resources for early phase programs (i.e. mechanism of action imagery, trial awareness materials, congress materials, etc.)
Lead innovation readiness planning and integrated evidence generation workstreams; identify publication opportunities and interface with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions
Leverage scientific expertise and bring relevant external clinical insights to early phase teams to inform on program impacts
Engage with external customers (i.e. TLs, investigators, patient advocacy) to facilitate the sharing of scientific information and understand external landscape evolution
Lead training on the early phase portfolio and relevant resources
Transfer program knowledge and deliverables to future late phase teams for early launch planning
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced scientific-related graduate degree such as: MD, MS, PharmD, PhD, or MSN with advanced clinical specialty
Additional skills
Oncology and radioligand experience highly preferred
5-10 years related experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Medical affairs and/or clinical development experience highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to think on an enterprise level
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills are required
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Demonstrated ability to capture scientific principles and convey to the level of the audience
