$63,000 - $162,800The Computational Group within ADME-Tox-PK/PD strives to apply innovative approaches to accelerate next-generation biologics for unmet medical needs. We drive innovation by integrating bioinformatics, automation, and ML/AI into actionable solutions to speed up discovery and mitigate toxicity challenges. We seek a dedicated and collaborative data scientist to join the group in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a core team member, you will develop novel solutions to modernize data architecture, develop automation and analytic capabilities, and derive novel data insights.
A successful candidate will be responsible for working with IT to build databases on existing and future pharmacokinetic and toxicology data. Modern database solutions will be forward-facing to ensure flexibility for future data sources and controlled terminology changes. Establish quality control practices to ensure data quality, monitor upload issues, and ensure data standards are correctly applied. Help create and maintain user interfaces, pipelines, and analytical/statistical solutions for secondary data analysis. Derive data insights in connection with collaborators.

Key responsibilities:
Database & Data Pipeline Design: Design, develop, and maintain scalable databases, data pipelines, and analytical platforms for data integration, visualization, and analysis.
Data Capture & Collaboration: Lead data capture initiatives in collaboration with discovery scientists, ensuring data quality, organization, and alignment with ML/AI and bioinformatics objectives.
Data Strategy & Quality: Partner with collaborators to define data strategies, quality control processes, and infrastructure, integrating new tools and technologies.
Data Processing & Integration: Develop and implement solutions for raw and clean data processing, extraction, and integration across multiple research domains.
Automation & Knowledge Extraction: Design automation and knowledge-based solutions to support decision-making and research. Support modernization and automation of data initiatives.
Data Analytics & Visualization: Create data analysis, statistical and visualization solutions to unlock valuable insights for decision making.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field with 7-10 years of industry experience
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience with development of analytics and business intelligence / data visualization solutions such as R Shiny, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, JavaScript or related programs/tools.
- Experience with relational database technologies, data modeling, data manipulation, data management, and database building/design (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
- Experience with automation and basic scripting (i.e., R, Python, etc.) or configuration environments.
- Experience with Natural Language Processing, PDF data extraction and/or use of ML/AI tools to extract value out of raw data.
- Understanding of application of controlled terminology and standards, and how to apply updated standards to existing databases.
- Experience with data integration from multiple sources.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Experience in statistical and analytical methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and investigative skills with intellectual curiosity and innovation interest.
- Experience in translating business needs of partners into efficient and meaningful solutions that drive decision making.
- Ability to communicate dedicatedly and effectively with IT and business partners.
