Position Brand Description:
The Associate Director will play a critical role in leading the Tech@Lilly Technical and Manufacturing Sciences (TSMS) team in enabling the making of medicine through the delivery of the TSMS digital agenda and operational support of full portfolio of Digital systems globally. This is a global position but needs to have very close collaboration with all sites around the world that are undergoing major expansion, and this position will help to ensure we are doing all we can to support the growth. This position will focus on enhancing and delivering the TSMS Digital Strategy for manufacturing operations through the implementation of advanced digital technologies and systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, Lilly Development and LRL teams to ensure the seamless integration of digital solutions in Manufacturing and Quality (MQ). This leader will have direct reports collaborating across global resources to ensure we are standardizing learnings and digital capabilities to be leveraged across multiple modalities of Manufacturing.
How You’ll Succeed:
Lead the development and execution of digital transformation strategies to improve manufacturing processes and support operational excellence
Actively contribute to the TSMS Digital portfolio to influence and advance TSMS strategic plan
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) & ensure alignment with business objectives
Enable data driven decisions and actions via the Digital & Analytics solutions, Process Monitoring framework and AI solutions
Manage and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and innovation in manufacturing operations
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all digital transformation initiatives
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success
Bring internal and external benchmarks to advance TSMS digital strategy actively contribute to the broader network of sites within Lilly
What You Should Bring:
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
Proven track record of leading digital transformation projects in a manufacturing sciences environment
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to manufacturing and quality systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and articulate complex technical concepts
Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with autonomy
Demonstrated curiosity for continuous learning and strategic thinking
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field
Minimum of 3+ years people leadership experience
Professional experience working in a GXP, regulated environment
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, and other emerging technologies within manufacturing
Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement practices
3+ years of experience working in PLM, Digital Manufacturing technologies, advanced process monitoring capabilities, analytical technologies
Experience with Process Monitoring, real-time multivariate technologies
Digital Technologies: SIMCA, Process Anomaly Detection, iProcess Health, Seeq advanced AI/ML, Aveeva PI are key for process monitoring.
Future Vision: Focus on AI for real-time quality, yield monitoring, and tech transfer.
Experience leading major project implementations

Position based in Indianapolis, Indiana
8-hour days, probable after-hours support
On site presence minimum 4 days a week
Occasional travel may be required
