We are seeking a talented and organized Design Resources Specialist to join our Los Angeles office. This intermediate role is ideal for a design professional with a strong design sensibility, expertise in materials, finishes, furnishings, and a passion for design excellence. 

 

As a key member of the design team, you will manage the firm's design resource library and serve as a trusted resource for project teams. You will research and curate innovative materials and products, build relationships with manufacturers and industry partners, and support material selection throughout the design process. Your expertise will help elevate design quality and inspire thoughtful, creative solutions across our projects. 

 

The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with a refined eye for color, texture, and craftsmanship. You stay current with industry trends and emerging products and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others. Responsibilities

  • Curate, organize, and maintain the firm's design resource library, including materials, finishes, furnishings, product samples, and digital resources. 
  • Research and evaluate new materials, products, and emerging design trends to support innovative, high-performing design solutions. 
  • Partner with project teams to recommend FF&E that align with design intent, performance, budget, and sustainability goals. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and industry partners to stay informed on emerging products and technologies. 
  • Coordinate product presentations, vendor meetings, and continuing education events for design staff. 
  • Develop and maintain material standards, finish palettes, and resource databases and sample inventories to ensure consistency, quality and accessibility across projects. 
  • Collaborate with design leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in the creation of mock-ups, material boards, and design presentations to support project team. 
  • Share product knowledge and material expertise to support learning and foster a culture of design excellence. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends, building products, codes, and sustainable materials to provide valuable insights to project teams. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field. 
  • 3–8 years of professional experience in interior design, materials research, FF&E, or design resource management in commercial interior projects. 
  • Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furnishings, building products, and industry manufacturers. 
  • Excellent design sensibility with a refined eye for color, texture, composition, and detail. 
  • Passion for design innovation, material research, and emerging industry trends. 
  • Understanding of material performance, constructibility, sustainability, and wellness considerations. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, vendors, and consultants. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Revit, Bluebeam, or materials management platforms is a plus. 
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and proactive, with a commitment to continuous learning and design excellence. 
  • Confident presentation and communication skills. 
  • This role is an in-office position.

 

 

 

This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $97,000 annually – Los Angeles locations only

 

The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in Los Angeles only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. In addition, base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
