RF Solution & Delivery Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring all point-to-point base stations and customer wireless links are performing consistently in accordance with our 99.5% link availability SLA.
• End-to-end planning & delivery of point-to-point & point-to-multipoint wireless services at base station & customer.
• Supporting Sales, SD, Field Service and NOC teams for day to day wireless predictions, surveys, installations and troubleshooting.
• Supporting field service teams physically on customer sites and base stations with any radio/wireless survey, installation & troubleshooting as and when required.
• Managing point-to-point radios and assigned base station & infrastructural assets..
• Keeping company CRM(Salesforce) up to date with related RF processes including assets, predictions, surveys and installations.
• RF solution delivery for special events / high bandwidth short-term projects
• Programme & project management for radio & wireless service deliveries
• Hands-on approach for working at base stations & customer sites for installation, commissioning & delivery of various types of radio, microwave, network cabinets, etc. equipment
• Complete budgeting & costing for the wireless & radio service deliveries
• Supporting and completing assigned TSS. 
• Supervising & delivering with the 3rd party at base stations & customer sites for wireless services, including any structural, power and network cabinet related activities.
• Level-2/level-3 troubleshooting & fault rectification of various wireless and microwave equipment at base station & customer sites
• Ensuring all point-to-point links are fully Ofcom compliant, that will include applying for a new license and arranging cancellations.
• Link budget and Radio Frequency planning for existing and new wireless point to point links.
• Level-2/3 advice/support to the NOC
• Supporting and coordinating base station roll outs among internal teams and 3rd parties, end to end site acquisition and delivery experience for new base stations and expansions on the existing sites.
• Supporting RF Network Expansion planning & delivery for new sectors, chassis, power, etc
• Delivering and completing periodic reporting and KPIs.
• R&D for the RF suppliers (5GHz, 28GHz, 60GHz, 70GHz, 80GHz, etc.) & solutions.
• Covering RF team peers on holidays to ensure seamless RF delivery. 
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Full UK driving licence
• Minimum 5 years hands on experience delivering fixed wireless point to point and point to multipoint wireless services for a service provider.
• Experience working with multiple vendor radio hardware in 5 GHz, 60/70/80 GHz spectrum bands.
• Excellent  understanding of fixed wireless Radio Base Station, infrastructure and technologies.
• Ability to deliver in time and to budget, capable of handling multiple work streams and workload prioritisation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - gather evidence, investigate solution
• Comfortable working on heights and high rise buildings and excellent understanding of health & safety regulations and site access procedures.
• Takes pride in wireless solution designs and base station deployments and ensure the highest quality of delivery
• Familiar with different types of steel structures, brackets and poles to plan and implement cost effective solutions at base stations and customer sites.
• Self-motivated team player, reliable and to be able to act with responsibility.
• Able to identify problems, process gaps, anomalies and their solutions to reach desired efficiencies.
• Confident to articulate and communicate clearly among cross functional teams.
• Build rapport and long term working relationships both internally and externally.

Desired requirements

• Understanding of RF planning tools, GIS mapping software and experience working on Mapinfo, Google Earth etc
• Keen to learn more and get involved in radio network functions.
• Experience working on CRM like Salesforce, monitoring systems like solar winds, libre etc
• Networking knowledge or certification like CCNA is a plus
