Reporting directly to the Indiana Medicaid Health Plan President, our Chief of Staff/ Planning and Performance Director is responsible for supporting the annual planning, strategy, and business change management for the President and the Health Plan Business. This critical role ensures compliance, operational excellence, and efficient execution of our health plan’s strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will expertly juggle planning, strategy, business change management, and executive support. This position will work in a hybrid way from our corporate offices in Indianapolis.
How you will make an impact:
Supports all health plan associates including leaders with troubleshooting day-to-day issues, including operational short-falls related to state contract requirements, coordination of critical Health Plan meetings, financial decisions impacting budget and alignment to diverse supplier spend, staffing strategy and challenges.
Utilize your knowledge of health business and key organizational stakeholders to be the executive decision maker for the HP President as needed.
Coordinating the completion of quarterly and annual business requirements including BORs, strategic plans and other requests from leadership,
Leadership of the 20+ member Ambassador team responsible for improving health plan culture and integrating volunteerism, professional development and enhanced communication into the day-to-day experience for all associates.
Serve as the primary escalation path for issues that arise on an ongoing basis that may be triaged before arising to the level of the Plan President.
Supports the annual planning efforts and the execution of the 3 year annual business plan that includes internal and external communications and associate engagement activities.
Program responsibilities such as executive reporting, project communications, management of issues logs and change requests, facilitating project meetings, managing deliverables and ensuring resolution of escalated issues.
Develops and coordinates presentations and materials for executive management meetings, internal and external speaking engagements and meetings.
Responsible for the implementation and execution of strategy that includes change management, sponsorship and buy-in and advocacy efforts to get business results.
Provides process, project, and change management methodology coaching/consulting support for initiatives including regulatory and mandated projects, health care reform special projects, and corporate initiatives.
Leads, identifies, tracks and reports on areas for increased efficiency.
Develops, monitors, and tracks metrics supporting budget and spend. Manages variance process, staffing plans, and adds to staff (budget neutral).
Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Highly preferred skills and experiences:
-Experience supporting an Executive leader as a Chief of Staff making business-critical decisions on their behalf, standing in at virtual meetings and on-site as needed
-Experience in financial and/or operational divisions of a Health Plan Business
-Deep relationships across the Elevance Health Ecosystem as it relates to the health plan business
-Proven experience in strategic planning, business change management, and executive support.
-Strong program and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
-Proficiency in managing budgets, financial decisions, and staffing plans.
