Requirements:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering and 3 years of experience in providing technical support to R&D for the manufacturability and procurement of components and raw materials used in manufacturing food preparation and preservation products.
- Must have experience in: Supervising cross-functional team throughout various phases of product design initiatives, including NPI, production, and commercialization.
- Identifying and maintaining strategic supplier relationships to enhance material sourcing by surveying, auditing, and assessing supplier capabilities and ensuring compliance to contract.
- Utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and develop quality improvement projects that improve SCR (Service call rate) and Cstar levels for stoves/ranges or refrigeration products.
- Leading the development and implementation of cost reduction projects by analyzing product and manufacturing process using Value Stream Map tool.
- Performing stress analysis test via stimulation in CATIA (V.5) lab to investigate/validate the manufacturability of material components, such as steel and glass, utilized in the fabrication of various home appliance products.
- Reviewing product assembly subsystems and manufacturing processes for stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic components including metal stamping, injection molding and metal casting to determine suitable fabrication processes of various home appliance products.
Job Duties:
- Provide technical support to R&D for the manufacturability and procurement of components and raw materials including steel and plastic used in manufacturing food preparation and preservation products.
- Review product assembly subsystems and manufacturing processes for stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic components including metal stamping, injection molding and metal casting to determine suitable fabrication processes of various home appliance products.
- Identify product improvement opportunities to reduce cost, improve quality and manufacturability of the product using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design and analysis of material properties for metal, plastic, and glass components.
- Supervise cross-functional team throughout various phases of product design initiatives, including NPI, production, and commercialization.
- Coordinate and manage activities to support daily manufactured production and NPI (new product launches).
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and develop quality improvement projects that improve SCR (Service call rate) and Cstar levels for stoves/ranges.
- Lead the development and implementation of cost reduction projects by analyzing product and manufacturing process using Value Stream Map tool.
- Evaluate cost models and perform cost break down analysis to identify cost saving opportunities of product and manufacturing process.
- Prepare and present business case to management change board committee to evaluate the benefit, cost, and risk of potential project proposals.
- Prepare documentation and training for new engineering procedures.
- Perform stress analysis test via stimulation in CATIA (V.5) lab to investigate/validate the manufacturability of material components, such as steel and glass, utilized in the fabrication of various home appliance products.
- Perform root cause analysis to understand and solve new or existing product and manufacturing problems following a structured problem-solving methodology.
- Coordinate engineering tests, trial runs, and production validations to affirm the success of new product changes.
- Redesign packaging for manufactured products to minimize raw material use or waste. Identify and maintain strategic supplier relationships to enhance material sourcing by surveying, auditing, and assessing supplier capabilities and ensuring compliance to contract.
- Support local and global purchasing department to leverage negotiation activities with suppliers and perform capacity analysis to avoid production disruptions.
- Validate new suppliers by executing engineering test plans and PPAP (production part approval process).
- Conduct engineering analysis and design changes using Teamcenter 14, Catia 3D simulation analysis, tolerance stack analysis, and finite element analysis to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and comply with quality and safety standards.
- Lead, organize, and participate in Teardown workshops and marketing analysis with cross functional team, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvements in wall ovens and free-standing Ranges.
