Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
Location: San Jose, California, United States

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Electric Hydrogen's Digital Team, where you will develop mission-critical software that powers the world's most powerful electrolyzers. In this role, you will build and maintain software systems that collect, transform, and deliver industrial data from our R&D labs, manufacturing facilities, and hydrogen plants. Your work will directly support plant operators, scientists, executives, and field service teams by providing the tools and data needed to optimize performance, accelerate product development, and improve operational efficiency.
This is a hybrid position based in San Jose, CA, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions that support Electric Hydrogen's digital platform
- Own projects from prioritization and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance
- Develop and enhance industrial telemetry pipelines that ingest plant data from Ignition SCADA systems into cloud-based platforms
- Build and maintain a centralized data lake that consolidates information from multiple data sources for analysis and reporting
- Develop and support Python- and SQL-based data analysis tools used by engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
- Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing and internal full-stack web applications using modern web technologies
- Develop software integrations that improve manufacturing systems and operational workflows
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring and alerting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, R&D, field service, and leadership to deliver high-impact software solutions
- Participate in architectural discussions and help define the technical direction for new systems and features
- Participate in an on-call incident response rotation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Significant professional software development experience building web applications, data platforms, or data pipelines
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript, Node.js, React, and TypeScript
- Strong Python programming skills with experience using data analysis libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, or similar frameworks
- Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with AWS cloud services and an understanding of cloud architecture design tradeoffs
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making
- Experience with industrial telemetry, IoT, SCADA systems, or industrial automation is preferred
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation

Compensation and Benefits | P4
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package. We feel strongly that our team should not have to worry about having quality healthcare. In addition to the base salary offered, the hired applicant may receive:
