About the Team
The Talent Experience product team at Eightfold.AI builds new product experiences for the millions of job seekers around the world. Our main product is the jobsite for customers that enables job seekers to get matched to the right roles based on the skills on their profile and inferred skillset and potential. We have also built a platform for Job Marketplace and Job seeker Identity that powers a logged in experience that not only enables job seekers to track their applications, and build their profile but also get notified about job opportunities that match their profile even when they are not actively scanning for jobs. 

Our team is innovating at all levels of our stack – from the search and matching quality, to rich user identity to building new experiences like Map based search for hyperlocal sectors like retail. We are looking for Fullstack or Backend Software Engineers to help us design, build, and ship web applications to enable millions of job seekers to find the right career that maximizes their potential! 

What you will do (or learn to do)
  • Mentor/coach other engineers to help them perform at their best and help guide their career growth
  • Set technical direction and standards across the team, including serving as a senior resource for code reviews and best practices. 
  • Build out large-scale enterprise-grade web applications that are used by millions of users. 
  • Own and be responsible for architecture, design, code, and delivery of multiple features/projects/products.
  • Be hands-on in design, development and testing of web applications delivered to enterprise customers using our tech stack :
  • React/Typescript frontends backed by Python Flask, GraphQL APIs, AWS lambda services. Solr, Redshift, Spark, Redis, SQL, AWS, Ansible, Bash
  • Be hands-on, and get into the ground-level technical details/depth whenever required. Conduct code reviews and design reviews ensuring code is highly performant and scalable.
  • Execute complex projects efficiently to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to the strategic direction of the company.
  • Diagnose problems for customers and handle critical escalations.
  • Actively participate in interviewing & hiring new talent.
  • Work closely with product managers, ux designers, and other teams to prioritize features, get them estimated, and scheduled for sprints, and keeping them on track for delivery.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other engineering teams and leaders
  • Be responsible for delivery of products and features shipped by this team
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and release rich and robust applications. 

What you bring
  • 10+ years of combined software development and management experience across multiple languages and frameworks.
  • 5+ years of managing software organizations with over 10 people or more is preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development or equivalent experience
  • Proven expertise in cross-functional team building and execution.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Track record of successful team development and driving projects to completion.
  • Technical Skills: Proven expertise in building and shipping user-facing web applications for enterprise customers, preferably full-stack SaaS products.
  • Experience with large complex data ecosystems and data quality and lifecycle issues.
  • Leadership Skills: Natural leadership abilities with experience in managing technical teams. You’re capable of mentoring engineers and leading projects to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent Communication
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science is preferred

Pay Transparency
Please note this role is categorized as onsite in Santa Clara, CA The base salary ranges below are provided for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role may be eligible for bonus and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and zone. Zones are determined by location. Zone A is in SF Bay Area, CA .
Base annual salary range: $200,000 to 235,000 + discretionary annual bonus up to 20% + preIPO equity (stock options).

Hybrid Work @ Eightfold: We embrace a hybrid work model that aims to boost collaboration, enhance our culture, and drive innovation through a blend of remote and in-person work. We are committed to creating a dynamic and flexible work environment that nurtures the collaborative spirit of our team. Starting February 1, 2024, employees residing near Santa Clara, California, or our Bangalore and Noida offices in India will return to the office twice a week.
