About the Team :
This role is for the 'Talent Management' platform.
Talent Management is one of Eightfold's flagship products.
Eightfold’s Talent Management platform powers internal mobility, skills intelligence, and workforce planning for global enterprises. The platform operates at scale across Fortune 500 customers and supports mission-critical talent workflows.
We are evolving the platform toward an AI-native architecture. This role is central to that transformation while also ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our existing enterprise product lines.
You will modernize and extend a large-scale production system while building the next generation of AI-powered capabilities on top of it.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the projects/PODs end-to-end. Lead the design discussion by working closely with the product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Design and build LLM-powered workflows, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent-based behaviors, and tool-integrated orchestration.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering the current Talent Management product suite.
- Ensure reliability, performance, and operational excellence across production systems.
- Mentor the juniors by performing code reviews and raising the technical bar across the team.
What We Need:
- A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals with hands-on experience in back-end development of 5 to 10 years.
- Hands-on experience leading the projects/features/POD
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or ML-powered features into real-world applications with a good understanding of embeddings, vector search, retrieval strategies, and inference patterns.
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor or similar, to accelerate coding workflows.
- Sound foundation in distributed systems and microservices.
- Passionate about designing, building, launching, and maintaining products
- Cares about the details in the user experience
- Ability to develop software/code in any one mainstream programming language (brownie points if you know Python)
- Communicates and collaborates effectively across teams
