Job Description

We're looking for a talented GIS Expert to join our organization in Lusail, Qatar. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain sophisticated GIS mapping applications and solutions that drive strategic decision-making across our operations. You will combine your expertise in geospatial analysis with application development skills to create innovative, user-centric GIS solutions that address complex spatial challenges. • Design, develop, and deploy web-based and mobile GIS applications using industry-standard platforms and programming languages
• Analyze complex geospatial datasets and create compelling visualizations and interactive maps that communicate spatial insights effectively
• Manage and optimize geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and efficient retrieval of spatial information
• Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to support business intelligence, urban planning, infrastructure development, and environmental management initiatives
• Customize and configure GIS software solutions (such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and related tools) to meet organizational requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including stakeholders, developers, and data analysts to gather requirements and deliver tailored GIS solutions
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for GIS applications, workflows, and technical specifications
• Perform quality assurance testing and troubleshooting to ensure GIS applications function reliably and meet performance standards
• Stay current with emerging GIS technologies, tools, and best practices, and recommend innovations to enhance existing systems
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on GIS applications and geospatial analysis methodologies

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in GIS mapping, geospatial analysis, and application development
• Advanced proficiency with GIS software platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent tools
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar languages used in GIS development
• Demonstrated expertise in spatial data analysis, cartography, and map design
• Experience developing web-based GIS applications and working with web mapping frameworks
• Solid understanding of geospatial databases and spatial data management systems
• Knowledge of remote sensing principles and techniques
• Proficiency in data visualization and creating compelling geospatial representations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex geospatial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Preferred: Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms and services
• Preferred: Familiarity with geospatial data standards and interoperability protocols
• Preferred: Portfolio or examples of previous GIS projects demonstrating technical proficiency
