Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC
Department: Edged Infrastructure
Edged Infrastructure has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer – Microgrids & Power Integration to join our team and support Edged Infrastructure, immediately supporting TurboCell. If you’re passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of a company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s infrastructure, this may be the role for you!
The Lead Electrical Engineer – Microgrids & Power Integration is a vital member of the team, with a primary focus on end-to-end electrical integration and architecture, multi-component microgrid modeling and analysis, and hands-on laboratory/field bring-up and verification. At Endeavour, we are highly selective about the people we bring on board because our ecosystem depends on it. We seek ultra-creatives and superstar performers with a sense of humility, a hunger to make positive change, and the ability to work equally as well independently as with a team.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- System Requirements & Specifications: Drive system-level electrical requirements definition, authoring detailed product and sub-system specifications for microgrids, BESS, power conversion equipment, and switchgear.
- Product Development Rigor: Drive electrical hardware lifecycles through formal development processes, leading DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) execution.
- Electrical System Architecture: Establish power distribution architecture, grounding strategies, protection coordination, and system interconnects across multi-component microgrids.
- Supplier & Subsystem Integration: Provide supplier technical oversight, lead design reviews, and manage the technical integration of third-party power conversion equipment, generation assets, and energy storage systems.
- Testing, Verification & Field Support: Lead test planning, verification, hands-on system bring-up, pre-compliance testing, and root-cause debugging in the lab, as well as field commissioning and troubleshooting support.
- Voice of Electrical Engineering: Represent the EE discipline in cross-functional alignment with mechanical, firmware, software, and product management teams, while establishing design best practices and mentoring engineering peers.

- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics, electrical distribution, or heavy system-level electrical integration.
- Demonstrated proficiency driving products through a formal development lifecycle (authoring specifications, DVP&Rs, DFMEAs)
- Experience with medium-voltage systems, switchgear, HIL testing, or test scripting (Python/MATLAB) is a plus.
Specific Skills / Abilities
- Deep foundational expertise in power electronics, microgrid architecture, BESS, generation assets, and industrial communication buses (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, RS-485).

- Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards, pre-compliance testing, and regulatory codes (NEC/NFPA 70, UL 1741, UL 9540, UL 2200, IEEE 1547).
Working Conditions
- Balanced mix of office-based architectural design/modeling and hands-on laboratory/field hardware integration.
- Comfortable working safely around high-power equipment in a lab or field environment.
- Hybrid schedule in Raleigh, NC (Preferred) or Remote work arrangement.
