About the team and the role: 

Collaborating with the Engineering Manager, Ads G&T Data, you will work on the Data Platform that provides Near Real Time Performance Data and Insights to the large portion of eBay’s millions of active sellers who use advertising products, including Promoted Listings, Promoted Stores, and Promoted Offsite, and plays a critical role in growing eBay’s nearly $2B Ads Business.

What you will accomplish: 

• Craft a platform for eBay sellers and advertisers to measure, in near real time, the performance of their advertising campaigns, and improve sales

• Build highly available, scalable software applications while maintaining a cadence of building, testing, and deploying code in a continuous manner

• Collaborate with applied research teams and help to build products using machine learning models and generative AI.

• Work closely with designers, product managers, data analysts, applied researches and other specialists (frontend, backend, machine learning) to redefine the advertising space for eBay and beyond.

• Operate within eBay’s internal open-source community where a variety of projects and codebases are shared.

• Help to build the next generation data platform and machine learning data platform by using agentic AI daily.

• Lead by example and share knowledge with the team, contributing to technical conversations and debates, and deciding upon approaches and tools to use.

What you will bring: 

• Broad understanding of Computer Science and well developed ability to grasp, simplify, articulate, communicate and publish complex arguments

• Good experience with JVM languages like Java, Kotlin and Scala

• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, and ClickHouse

• Good understanding of how to develop agentic and multi-agentic solutions, RAG services and MCP-servers to help us to integrate AI to our current systems.

• Demonstrated experience partnering with Engineering and Product teams
