eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Enhance and debug Hadoop and Spark frameworks to improve performance, scalability, and reliability Develop Spark test frameworks to ensure high-quality code and efficient data processing Develop data connectors that enable seamless data movement within a Data Lake environment Maintain and support Hadoop clusters, including troubleshooting and resolving customer and platform-related issues Contribute to version releases and upgrades of Hadoop and Spark, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the open-source big data ecosystem and recommend appropriate tools and technologies for integration into our infrastructure Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software solutions Write clear and concise technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting guides Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Hadoop (3 years)

2. Utilizing Spark in the development of large-scale software applications (3 years)

3. In-depth knowledge and expertise in Kyuubi (3 years)

4. Extensive experience with Hive, demonstrating proficiency (3 years)

5. Proficient in Java programming with a background in designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design. (3 years)

6. Strong command of Scala of applying it in software development. (3 years)

7. Demonstrated expertise in SQL of practical application. (3 years)

8. Proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, showcasing of hands-on experience (3 years)
 

Base salary: $199,534-262,900 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
