About the team and the role:

eBay's Buyer Experience engineering team is looking for an outstanding Staff Engineer as we redefine the face of eBay. You’ll be working with a best-in-class team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to build excellent products that make a difference on one of the world’s most trafficked and loved websites. 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of react native development experience working with high velocity teams. We want to work with the best, and we’d love for you to join us.

What you will accomplish:

• Lead the development of React Native applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability

• Architect robust mobile solutions that can handle the demands of a rapidly growing user base using React Native

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features with a user-centric approach

• Ensure code quality, organization, and automatization, setting standards for the team to follow

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the mobile development domain

• Stay ascertain of the latest React Native updates and industry trends, applying standard methodologies to our development processes

• Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality

• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to cultivate their growth and ensure team skill enhancement

Who You will bring:

• Proven experience as a Staff Engineer and strong proficiency in React Native framework

• Proficiency in JavaScript, Typescript and deep understanding of React Native and its core principles

• Experience in building mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms

• Solid knowledge of mobile app development processes and lifecycles

• Experience with common development tools such as Node, Yarn, NPM, etc.

• Consistent track record of crafting and integrating with APIs and understand the flow of data

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Strong communication and leadership skills, leading projects to successful completion

• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• ​​Experience in fixing accessibility issues is a plus

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field with 12+ years of experience or MS with 10+ years of experience
