eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems. Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Develop software code and lead code review sessions. Design technical system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative technical solutions. Responsible for unit and integration testing of implemented software features. Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Collaborate with search partner teams on a day to day basis to ensure all end to end processes are running smoothly. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Salary: $157,000.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
