Product Design Engineering Manager

What you’ll do:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading, developing and driving a team of cross discipline engineers in the Richmond VA area to ensure successful three phase power electronic equipment project execution. This role oversees the completion of Engineered to Order (ETO) projects working closely with other departments such as Quality, Product Management and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives. 

In this role you will:

• Lead and Manage Teams: Responsible for leading a team of engineers, including both Electrical and Mechanical engineers. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project execution.
• Design Projects: Oversee and drive the completion of ETO projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Standardize: Standardize processes and implement strategies to prepare the team for future organizational growth.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (such as Quality, Marketing, and Manufacturing) to achieve project objectives and identify and implement improvements that reduce production time and cost, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production methods.
• Performance Assessment: Assess team performance, recruit new talent, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5 years minimum years’ experience in engineering
• 2 years minimum managerial experience
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred
• 3-7 years experience in engineer to order (ETO) environment preferred
• 3-7 years experience in engineering in the datacenter or power systems fields
• Experience in magnetics or transformer engineering preferred

• Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements
• Knowledge of Industrial Transformer, Invertor and Power Supplies products.
