Manager-Power Electronics (Data Center)

Department: Research & Development Engineering

What you’ll do:

This role is responsible for leading the electrical engineering design, development, and implementation of large-scale, mission-critical data center infrastructure projects. The position combines technical leadership, people leadership, and project delivery responsibilities to ensure innovative, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective data center solutions. The role serves as the technical authority for electrical systems while driving engineering excellence, design quality, innovation, and team development across the data center project lifecycle.

Engineering Management
• Lead and manage electrical engineers and subject matter experts across projects.
• Allocate resources and manage engineering workloads.
• Drive engineering execution to meet project schedules, quality targets, and customer requirements.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
• Provide technical coaching and professional development support to engineers.

Project Delivery & Client Engagement
• Manage electrical engineering deliverables throughout project execution.
• Act as the primary technical interface for customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and project discussions.
• Support successful project delivery through close collaboration with project management, commercial, and technical teams.
• Ensure alignment between customer expectations, project requirements, and engineering execution.

Quality, Standards & Governance
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct formal design reviews and peer reviews.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Promote continuous improvement of engineering processes and design methodologies.

Site Support & Commissioning
• Lead site visits during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Monitor electrical installation activities and resolve technical issues.
• Support commissioning activities and operational readiness assessments.
• Provide technical guidance for field challenges and project execution risks.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Drive adoption of innovative technologies and engineering solutions.
• Evaluate new approaches to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.
• Contribute to the advancement of next-generation data center infrastructure.
• Support strategic engineering initiatives and long-term technology roadmaps. 

Qualifications:


Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and data center infrastructure design.

Skills:

Proven experience delivering electrical systems for mission-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in the design and delivery of mission-critical data center electrical infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, transformers, UPS systems, standby generation, and critical power architectures. The role requires proficiency in electrical system design, power distribution analysis, design verification, installation and commissioning practices, as well as a thorough understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and quality processes. Candidates should be knowledgeable in emerging data center technologies, edge computing, AI-driven infrastructure trends, value engineering, and cost optimization strategies. Additionally, strong capabilities in engineering and project management, including resource planning, schedule management, quality oversight, risk mitigation, and multidisciplinary team coordination, are essential to successfully deliver reliable, scalable, and innovative data center solutions.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing engineering teams while driving technical excellence and innovation. The role requires strategic thinking, including the ability to evaluate emerging technologies, influence long-term technology direction, and maintain a strong customer and business focus. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable recommendations.
