We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. This position is part of the LVPC Product Engineering team and serves as the Lead Engineer for Vehicle Control products used in commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural equipment, specialty vehicles, and industrial mobile-equipment applications. The role leads electronics hardware and embedded-control execution for multiplexed switches, keypads, rotary controls, operator-control modules, and vehicle I/O products. The incumbent will translate customer requirements into robust product designs, coordinate cross-functional engineering activities, lead design reviews and verification, support production launch and field issue resolution, and guide junior engineers while ensuring quality, cost, schedule, reliability, functional-safety, and customer requirements are achieved.

"What you’ll do:
• Lead electronics and embedded-control development for Vehicle Control products, including multiplexed switches, keypads, rotary controls, operator-control modules, and vehicle I/O modules.
• Develop and review analog and digital circuits, microcontroller-based designs, power supplies, signal conditioning, communication interfaces, schematics, PCB layouts, component selection, and design-for-manufacturing/test.
• Lead hardware–software integration for CAN, SAE J1939, LIN, diagnostics, bootloaders, calibration, fault handling, and HMI features.
• Translate customer needs and vehicle use cases into product requirements, interfaces, specifications, traceability, and verification plans.
• Coordinate project-level technical deliverables from concept and prototyping through verification, qualification, production launch, and lifecycle support.
• Lead design reviews and resolve complex design, manufacturing, supplier, warranty, and field issues using structured problem-solving methods.
• Ensure designs meet performance, EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability, functional-safety, cybersecurity, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Evaluate design alternatives and drive reuse, component standardization, VAVE, obsolescence mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with global product teams, application engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, suppliers, and OEM customers.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen Vehicle Control electronics and embedded-product development capability."

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
12+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with a master’s degree in automotive, commercial-vehicle, off-highway, industrial-control, or Tier-1 product development, including technical leadership experience.

Skills:

"• Strong experience in Vehicle Control products such as multiplexed switches, keypads, rotary controls, operator-control modules, HMI products, or vehicle I/O modules.
• Expertise in embedded electronic product design, including analog and digital circuits, microcontrollers, power supplies, communication interfaces, schematics, PCB reviews, component engineering, EMC, reliability, testing, and manufacturing.
• Strong hardware–software integration knowledge, including real-time control, diagnostics, bootloaders, failure handling, configuration management, and debugging.
• Proficiency with CAN, SAE J1939, and LIN; knowledge of UDS or vehicle Ethernet is advantageous.
• Experience in end-to-end new product development from requirements and architecture through design, verification, qualification, launch, and lifecycle support.
• Systems-engineering capability in requirements, interfaces, trade studies, FMEA, verification, traceability, and product-level validation.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, Automotive SPICE, EMC/EMI, and environmental qualification requirements.
• Strong structured problem-solving skills using 8D, FRACAS, fault-tree analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, and statistical methods.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and technical reviews across global cross-functional teams."
"• Visible technical leadership and sound engineering decision-making.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and mentor engineers.
• Clear written and verbal communication with customers, management, and global stakeholders.
• Strong customer focus, collaboration, ownership, strategic thinking, and results orientation.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver quality results to cost and schedule commitments."
