Lead Engineer - Mechanical (Breakers)

Location: Hadapsar, Pune, Maharashtra, IND, 411013

Department: Research & Development Engineering

Work Location: onsite

What you’ll do:

" We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills in new Product development for MCB (Minuature Circuit Breaker).Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques, Tools, Processes for new Product Development Cycle
Candidate should be able to demonstrate following Responsibilities 
- Design and Develop MCB, RCDs products meeting customer requirement, majorly focusing on mechanism design, cost target and Market related technology. 
- Coordinate with Global stakeholders and Drive project execution through Design, testing and implementation phase
- Technical ownership of the project. Ensure product compliance to global design standards like IEC, NEMA or any other compliance standard.
- Completes system / component sizing, modeling, and simulation to meet requirements.
- Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process."

"- Demonstrated capability in mechanism design of MCB & accessories etc.
 Knowledge of low voltage switchgear standards in accordance to IEC/UL/CSA/CCC codes which will allow development of test plans. 
- Experience in witnessing tests like Temperature rise , Short circuit , Make/Break, sequence tests per IEC60947, IEC60898-1, IEC61009-1 thereby estimating impact on product performance from changing material/components. -
- Create test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. 
- Assesses test results, root cause analysis through test findings/failures and takes corrective/preventive actions
- Responsible for design engineering analysis on current path , mechanism , spring etc. Completes / reviews analysis on components through the use of simulation or Excel calculations
- Support Creation of new designs and advanced methodologies to support the Technical Roadmap of the organization
- Review Supplier Document Requirements List based on product requirements, customer specifications or industry standards like IEC, NEMA etc.,. 
- Review, design proposals and documentation required to define & control products
- Participate in design reviews, both customer and internal as required
- Review reliability predictions, and Design Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and structural/thermal/CFD/MBD results
- Participate in multi-discipline concurrent development and corrective action teams
- Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications
- Will be responsible for execution of the project and take lead in activities like Production feasibility assessment and Part production approval process ( PPAP) etc.
- Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications
- May provide formal and informal updates to Engineering Manager and Program Manager. Participates in the preparation for design review material"

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical
"9 - 14 years
• Minimum 8 Expereince in designing MCB, RCDs mechanism 

Skills:

• Experience working with cross functional teams within and outside organization to drive design objectives in sustaining products
• Experience through all stages of the prodcut development cycle
 • Experience in short circuit, temperature rise, arc test in accordance with IEC/UL standards
• Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
• Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
• Proficient in CAD and PLM softwares
• Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
• Experience in product costing and analyzing cost break-up due to various manufacturing processes/ design features
• Experience in test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation
• Knowledge of Electromechanical Systems

• Sound technical knowledge in design and development of MCB, RCDs
• Thorough understanding of IEC / IEEE standards, UL certification, 3D modelling , PLM, ERP system knowledge
• Extensive experience with product design , sustainance , cost out, agile methodologies
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing & painting, cabling, assembly processes"
