Description
Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

As Antenna Systems Engineer – Calibration, you will be responsible for all aspects of calibration for phased array antenna systems including design, simulation, implementation, test and optimization. In this role, you will leverage your 7+ years of experience in phased array antennas, antenna calibration methods and measurement techniques.

This position will report to the Sr. Direction of RF Systems Engineering and will work closely with systems, software, hardware and test teams that are responsible for delivering the communications system.  This position is based in our Saratoga, CA or Arlington, TX office.

What you will do

  • Design, implement and test calibration systems for phased-array systems for satellites
  • Devise innovative algorithms for calibration and measurement that can be implemented at scale quickly – in the lab, in the factory and in orbit.
  • Model key aspects of the design in simulation and validate the algorithms in the design.
  • Design setups in the lab for calibration and measurement.
  • Collaborate with antenna, RF, systems and hardware teams to simulate, test and optimize calibration algorithms.

What you bring to this role

  • BS in EE/CS/CE or a related field with relevant coursework in Antennas and Electromagnetic theory, RF/Microwave Engineering and digital communication theory.
  • 7+ years of experience in phased array antennas, antenna calibration methods and measurement techniques.
  • Experience with lab test equipment like Vector Signal Analyzers/Generators, Vector Network Analyzers and Oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in DSP techniques, digital modulation, radio architecture, line-up analysis, RF system design.
  • Near and far field chamber design and operation
  • Coding and scripting skills with demonstrated experience in Matlab/Python/C++.
  • Experience with EM and circuit-level simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, ADS.
  • Excellent problem-solving with a from-first-principles approach.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.  Team player

Bonus points for the following

  • Experience with large deployable phased array antennas
  • Experience with antennas at VHF through C-Band
  • Experience working with antennas for satellites or for the space industry
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing processes and related constraints

We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow-ed.
