Position Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Integration Engineer - SAP CPI to join our team and take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining robust integration solutions using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI). This role requires a hands-on expert who can independently manage end-to-end integration projects across SAP and third-party systems, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Independently lead the design and development of SAP CPI integration solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical specifications, and delivering on time and with minimal supervision.
- Develop, configure, and deploy iFlows for both cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-premise integration scenarios, leveraging SAP CPI capabilities.
- Implement and optimize integration solutions between SAP and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data exchange using various protocols such as SOAP, REST, IDocs, OData, JSON, and XML.
- Take full ownership of integration processes, from design and development to deployment and support, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance throughout the lifecycle.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration solutions for high availability and performance, resolving any technical issues with minimal downtime and providing quick resolutions.
- Collaborate closely with business and technical teams, including functional consultants, project managers, and system architects, to define integration requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Independently manage end-to-end integration projects, from gathering requirements to deploying and maintaining production systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for integration processes, including technical specifications, integration flow diagrams, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with integration standards, best practices, and organizational security policies, particularly in the handling of sensitive data.
- Research and recommend new integration technologies, tools, and approaches to improve performance and scalability in SAP CPI and integration projects.
- Act as a primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, offering expert troubleshooting and resolution strategies.
- Contribute to project planning and estimations, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocations for integration initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in SAP integration development, including significant hands-on experience with SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
- Proven track record of leading SAP CPI integration projects from design through deployment and ongoing maintenance, with a strong focus on end-to-end solutions.
- Deep expertise in designing and implementing iFlows for integration between SAP and third-party systems (cloud-based and on-premise), with a thorough understanding of integration patterns and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of integration protocols and data formats, including SOAP, REST, IDoc, OData, JSON, XML, and others.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, capable of resolving complex integration issues independently and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Extensive experience working with SAP S/4HANA.
- Expertise in API management, authentication mechanisms, and security protocols for SAP CPI.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, managing and delivering multiple integration projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and integration patterns, particularly in the context of SAP Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of integration testing, including unit testing, end-to-end testing, and performance testing.
Preferred Skills:
- SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) certification or other related certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Cloud Platform Integration).
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite, including API Management, Open Connectors, and Integration Advisor.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA Cloud.
- Familiarity with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with SAP Process Orchestration (PO) and SAP PI/PO is a plus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in integration projects.
