Software Architect

This is a key role on the engineering team, responsible for guiding the architecture and ensuring the quality of the system with direct collaboration with our Debrecen engineering center.

Responsibilities

• Identify, define, and solve problems at scale, selecting the best solution from many.

• Ensure solutions are accurate, resilient, and cost-effective.

• Plan and deliver oral, written communications that are impactful and tailored to the level and experience of the audience.

• Support and initiate organizational changes.

• Consistently deliver solutions with high quality.

• Consistently meet expectations, acknowledging and filling gaps in knowledge.

• Set and maintain software architecture and communication standards.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products

• Actively seek to raise the bar of quality in Dynata's software development posture.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software development

• 5+ years of experience in systems architecture, service-based architecture, or enterprise application architecture.

• 5+ years of experience developing cloud-based solutions in Azure, AWS, or GCP. AWS preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Knowledge & Skill

• Articulate and express complex abstract thoughts and ideas using oral, written communication

• Strong knowledge of domain driven design concepts.

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and deploying APIs that scale to serve hundreds of millions of requests per day.

• Strong knowledge of various API architectural styles such as REST, RPC, gRPC, SOAP, GraphQL, and pub/sub.

• Working knowledge of OSI layer 4 and 7 networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, TLS, DNS, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, WebSocket, and AMQP.

• Strong knowledge of application and data security principles and practices.

• Able to work with a variety of programming languages such as C/++, Rust, Go, Java, Scala, Python, JavaScript, Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Groovy, and C#.

• Strong knowledge of application observability using logs, traces, and metrics (Datadog, OpenTelemetry - OTEL , Honeycomb, CloudWatch) .

• Familiarity with relational database design and normalization up to 3NF (PostgreSQL, Aurora, MySQL, MS SQL).

• Hands-on experience with various NoSQL data stores such as document, graph, key-value, columnar, time series, or ledger (DocumentDB, Cassandra, Neptune, Timestream).

• Experience designing eventually consistent solutions using pub/sub messaging technologies (SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kinesis).

• Familiarity with deploying infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform).

Location: Remote (within Hungary) or Hybrid (at our office in Debrecen).

Please note that this is a full-time position, not a contractor role, and requires candidates to be based in Hungary with the legal right to work.
