.NET Software Engineer

MarketSight .NET Software Engineer

This is a technical role for the MarketSight team at Dynata. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in delivering features and functionality to support current MarketSight clients as well as integrations with other Dynata applications and services. Responsible for supporting the legacy MarketSight product and contribute to refactoring towards a modern service-oriented architecture.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and implementation of software components for the MarketSight application
• Program new features and bug fixes with unit test coverage.
• Participate in development/refactoring towards modern design patterns and frameworks.
• Assist QA in triage and debugging of customer issues.
• Participate in SDLC ceremonies, and Agile practices and procedures.
• Support AWS hosting deployments of MarketSight across several regions.
• Adhere to security policies, procedures, and safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive information.
• Work to understand the vision of the company and express that vision in products and technology to meet the needs of the company, partners, and clients.

Skills and Attributes

• Experience in C# .Net/ASP.NET/JavaScript/TypeScript application development.
• Understanding of Relational Database design, SQL and ORM (NHibernate) technologies.
• Knowledge in public cloud environments and web-services.
• Strong written and oral communication skills. All communications with Dynata business and support teams is in English.
• Understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development.
• Scrum / SDLC experience and competencies.
• Great interpersonal skills. Ability to work with remote and distributed teams.

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience with Python.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with React and contemporary JavaScript libraries for future projects.
• Understanding of CI/CD and TDD best practices.

Education and Experience

• 3+ years of experience in software design and development.
• College or University degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise grade software written in one of: C#, Java, C++, or C.  (C# experience required)
• Quality Assurance and/or DevOps experience or working closely with these teams.
• Industry experience in Data Analytics or Market Research. (a huge plus)
