Position Overview
DXC Technology is seeking an OSI PI Historian Engineer to join its OT / Digital Systems team in Perth. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the OSIsoft PI System for varied clients/projects, ensuring high availability of operational data, and assisting in delivering insight from this data to operations, engineering, and IT stakeholders. The role bridges operations technology and information technology.

Key Responsibilities
•    Set up, configure, and manage core OSI PI components:
o    PI Data Archive
o    PI Asset Framework (AF)
o    Interfaces/connectors to SCADA, DCS, PLCs, OPC / MQTT etc.
o    PI Vision or other visualization tools
•    Develop and maintain AF templates, event frames, analytical calculations, and dashboards to support operations, maintenance, asset performance.
•    Ensure data integrity, reliability, performance, and system health (health checks, backups, interface uptime).
•    Troubleshoot data flow issues, latency, missing data, interface failures, and coordinate resolution with OT and IT teams.
•    Support integration of PI with enterprise systems (ERP/MES/Data Lakes) where needed.
•    Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure PI system supports operational decision making.
•    Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines.
•    Plan and manage upgrades, patches, security compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
•    Degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent.
•    Several years of hands on experience with OSI PI system administration and development (including PI AF, PI Vision, Interfaces).
•    Strong understanding of industrial networks / protocols (OPC, Modbus, MQTT, etc.).
•    Good Windows Server / networking knowledge.
•    Ability to troubleshoot complex issues; strong analytical, problem solving skills.
•    Clear communication skills; ability to liaise with operations/engineering/IT stakeholders.

Desirable / Nice to Have
•    Experience working in mining, utilities, oil & gas, or similar heavy industry sectors common in WA.
•    Scripting / automation skills (PowerShell, Python, SQL).
•    Experience integrating PI with cloud or data analytics platforms.
•    PI System certifications or vendor training (AVEVA / OSIsoft).
•    FIFO / site experience or willingness to travel to remote sites if needed.
